A quiet, beautiful home
for book clubs.
Pagebird's identity is editorial and warm — built for readers, not feeds. Forest greens hold the page like a clothbound cover; cream is the paper; gold is the bookmark. A single yellow songbird carries the brand. This is the foundation everything else is cut from.
Logo
The wordmark is set in Fraunces Italic and reads lowercase — always. It carries the editorial warmth of the brand on its own. The mascot — a yellow songbird perched on a forest-green book — pairs with it for primary lockups and stands alone as an app icon.
BACKGROUND FOREST GRADIENT
MIN SIZE 24PX
Clear space & minimum size
Reserve clear space equal to the height of the bird's body (the lower oval) on every side. Don't drop the wordmark below 24px for digital or 0.5in for print — the italic terminals get muddy.
Color
Pagebird is a four-color brand. Forest is the cover. Cream is the page. Gold is the bookmark and the bird. Coral is the underline — used sparingly, for accents and for highlighting a single italic word.

How to use color
- Forest is the dominant brand color — covers, headers, large fields, app icon.
- Cream & paper hold long-form content. Default reading background.
- Gold is for the mascot, decorative linework, and small "live" accents (badges, an underline). Never use gold as a CTA color.
- Coral is the accent — italic words, primary CTA on cream, the bookmark. Use one coral moment per screen.
- Reading text is Ink on cream, or Cream on forest. Never dark ink on forest.
Type
A two-and-a-half-typeface system. Fraunces — a contemporary serif with optical sizing — does the heavy lifting: headlines, display, body copy, the wordmark itself. Nunito handles UI: buttons, labels, form copy. Inter shows up in one place — small-caps eyebrows and slide chrome — where its tighter geometry reads as editorial metadata.
Italic discipline
Italics carry meaning. Use Fraunces italic for the wordmark, for emphasis on one or two words per headline (always coral), and for pull-quotes. Don't italicize body copy or UI labels.
Spacing & rhythm
An 8-point scale with a 4-point micro step. Pagebird leans toward the upper end — generous whitespace is part of the brand. Sections breathe at 96–128px; paragraphs at 12–16px.

Voice & tone
Pagebird sounds like a thoughtful friend who reads more than you do and would never make you feel bad about it. We write like editors, not growth marketers. Lowercase wordmark; sentence case for product copy; no emoji in primary surfaces; no exclamation points except in genuine moments of celebration.
Three principles
Sentences read aloud well. Long enough to breathe; short enough to land. We write headlines that feel set in type, not generated.
Reading is a private joy and a social one. Our copy honors both — inviting, unhurried, comfortable with quiet moments.
No growth-hack vocabulary. No "supercharge," "unleash," or "revolutionize." We say what the thing does, plainly.
